If Ya Shuck, Ya Shuck Two

The Game

Similar to Push ‘Em, players have the option to push cards to the next player during the deal. Most commonly, pushes are a low cost, and shucks (discard and replace) are free. At the end, the high poker hand splits the pot with the low poker hand.

The Deal

After the initial ante, deal one card face down to each player. Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, the top card from the deck is offered to the player: they may keep it or pay the cost to push it to the next player.

The Play

Once a card comes to a stop, back-fill the players who pushed. The next player to get a non-fill card again has the option to push. Once all players have the same number of cards, a round of betting ensues. For the next deal, players may only push the last up card they get. Continue until all players have 6 cards (betting after each), after which all players have an opportunity to shuck cards: should they choose to do so, they must replace two cards, but they can be any combination of up or down cards.

Ending the Game

After the shuck, and a final round of betting, the high poker hand splits the pot with the low poker hand.

What Wins

Relatively easy to build a good low hand with the shuck at the end. High poker hands are tougher to get, but low-hand players are happy to push high cards along.
