The Game
Players build high poker hands with community cards, but need to survive discards as well. The dealer should indicate whether there will be a draw phase.
The Deal
Each player gets five cards, then deal four cards in each of two rows face down in the center of the table (the “barn”). The dealer indicates one row as “burn” and the other row as “keep”.
The Play
Once dealt, there is an initial round of betting. Then the dealer reveals one card from both the “burn” and “keep” sides of the barn. If a card from the “keep” side is revealed on the “burn” side, it is burnt. Players must also discard from their hand any card that matches the “burn” side. The lowest card on the “keep” side is shared by all players, and is wild. Bet after each reveal.
Ending the Game
After the final reveal and bet, the high poker hand wins.
What Wins
Since there is likely a wild card involved, need a strong poker hand to win. But since cards can get burnt, some may struggle to build such a hand with fewer cards.
