We wanted to keep the hand and stylistic-theme going, and I chose a scene from the book that would allow us to create tension and ambiguity: the casual viewer/new reader could interpret the scene in a couple different ways. After darkening the tunnel from the first drafts at Steve’s suggestion, I applied some spot lighting enhancements to bring up the connection to the specific scene, and it really evoked the sense of danger.
