On June 28, (Grandpa) Chris Nix got a chance to be a passenger in a C47 that was out at the Freedom Heritage Museum in Evansville for part of ShrinerFest 2015. As a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne during World War II, he’d been up in that model of plane before, but he’d always exited well before it landed. He finally got the chance to land in one on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Here are some pictures and videos from the event.
